Building Forever TOGETHER

Youth in Philanthropy

Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) is a growing movement that engages young people in building philanthropy in communities across Canada.

The students get out into the community, tour various charities and get the opportunity to use their own ideas to make a difference in Kenora and the surrounding region.

YIP Granting Ceremony

Youth in Philanthropy Endowment Fund:

Each year the Youth in Philanthropy groups have returned $700 to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation to add to the existing YIP Endowment Funds.

There is currently over $7000 in the YIP Endowment Funds for both Beaver Brae and Thomas Aquinas.

Various donors have also been contributing to the YIP endowment funds for both schools.

YIP Granting Ceremony:

At the end of the school year students are invited to the May Granting Ceremony where the cheques are presented by the students to the charities of the students’ choice.

The granting ceremony is also an opportunity to recognize the students for their good work within the community. These annual ceremonies are open to the public.

Youth in Philanthropy Granting Celebration 2010 a success:
