Apply for a Grant

We have granted $2 million to over 50 local registered charities in the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, our Community Foundation is able to invest in the future of our community through grant making. Our Community Foundation makes grants to a wide range of local charitable organizations, which, in turn, help to strengthen our Community.

Grant Categories

The Community Foundation considers grant applications made by charitable organizations that fall into the following categories: Arts and Culture, Health and Wellness, Social Welfare, Animal Welfare, the Environment and the Community at large.

Eligibility and Process:

Failure to follow any of the steps listed below may impact the consideration of your grant application.

  • If you have any questions about eligibility, the grant application or process, or just wish to discuss your project before you submit please do not hesitate to contact our office at 807-467-4427.
  • Only registered charities in good standing with CRA, offering programs benefitting residents and visitors to the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region, are eligible to apply.
  • Organizations are eligible to apply for funding once per calendar year.
  • If you are a not-for profit, but not a registered charity, you must complete the Non-Profit Organizations form from our website, and attach it with your application.
