The work of registered charities and not-for-profits in the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Region could not happen at the level it does without the support of the Community Foundation and the funders who so generously give. These are real people with real stories, sharing the difference the grants have made in their lives and the opportunities they might not otherwise have had. - Judy Underwood, in response to the June 2016 Granting Ceremony

Anonymous donor gives Keewatin Forever Endowment Fund a $15,000 boost, to coincide with Remembrance Day

An Anonymous donor is remembering the good works of Keewatin charities, by matching a recent gift of $15,000 made by the Keewatin Legion, to the Keewatin Forever endowment fund, held with the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation.

“This anonymous gift is being made to match the recent $15,000 donation by the Keewatin Legion. It is made to honour the good works of Keewatin charities and also at this particular time, a day before Remembrance Day, to signify that Keewatin is still alive and vibrant and means so much to many residents here and away.”, said Darlene MacGillivray, Community Foundation Executive Director.

“The donor is also hoping that this gift will inspire others to remember Keewatin, by making a gift to the endowment fund. All gifts over $10 are eligible to receive a charitable receipt.”, MacGillivray added.
