Mike Richards 2013 Charity Golf Tournament
Another well attended tournament of 32 teams, hosted by Mike Richards, took place Thursday, July 11th, at the Kenora Golf & Country Club. This year with the Kenora & Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation joining in on the action at hole 10, giving out snacks, water, and lots of encouragement to the golfers who seemed to be enjoying the beautiful day.

“It was awesome, we cheated a little bit, we had six in our group, and we still couldn’t win!” said Richards laughing. “But we had a good time. Even walking around town in the following days, I had a lot of people come up to me and say how much fun they had. When you hear all the positive stuff it makes you look forward to putting it on again.”

Overall, the day raised an astonishing $35,728, with half going to the Community Foundation and the other to the Canadian Cancer Society. The Community Foundation would like to give a big thank you to Mike Richards for hosting the tournament and seeing the importance in giving back to the community, and another thank you to RBC and the lead organizer, Kathleen Novak, for all her time and effort!
