Spirit of Generosity Shines at the 14th Annual Festival of Trees Charity Fundraiser

For immediate release: Kenora, ON – Dec. 8th 2017

With over 800 guests enjoying the weekend event held at Seven Generations on Dec 1 and 2nd, many organizations were overjoyed to learn that they were the recipients of beautifully decorated Christmas trees. Multiple donors decided to honour the holiday spirit by donating their purchased trees, from the live bidding auction during the Gala evening, to these local groups.

The Anishinaabe Kweg Ginger Bread Tree was donated to Women’s Shelter Saakaate House, The LOWBREWCO Tree was delivered to the Kenora Fellowship Centre, and the Beaver Brae Broncos Tree is bringing joy to the skiers at Mt. Evergreen throughout the holiday season. Additional trees were delivered to Pinecrest Home for the Aged, Minto Family Resource Centre, and the Jubilee Church.

“We always hope to see trees donated back into the community and we express our sincere gratitude to so many donors who did just that.” said Executive Director, Darlene MacGillivray. “This year’s event really reflected community philanthropy in our area and we hope to see everyone back at the 15th Annual Festival of Trees in 2018.”
