Random Act of Kindness Day® 2017
The Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation is excited to present our 7th Annual Random Act of Kindness Day, designed to give everyone an opportunity to do nice things for those around them. The date is Friday November 3rd, 2017 – so mark it on your calendars!

WHAT IS RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY ®
In 2011, the Kenora and Lake of the Woods Regional Community Foundation joined other community foundations across Canada in engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity. Random Acts of Kindness day was first created by the Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation in 2008.
The message is simple; do something nice for someone and ask nothing in return other than they do something nice for someone else. Part of the beauty of the initiative is that it doesn’t have to cost a cent. You can hold a door open for someone, offer words of encouragement, words of thanks – these are examples of acts of kindness that you can ‘pay forward’ on this special day. Citizens will be invited to hand out printed cards that say “You’ve been touched by a RANDOM ACT OF KINDNESS.” These cards are available by calling our office (467-4427).
“We are thrilled to have so many people involved in previous years’ Random Acts of Kindness Day,” says Executive Director, Darlene MacGillivray. “Let this day be a time to reflect and act upon our spontaneous thoughts of generosity. We can’t wait to see what kindness flows out!”
